Normal start up. After a 5 minute warm up put in gear and head out of marina. About 2 hundres yards try to accelerate for about 1 second it seems fine then fell flat and shut off. Returned to neutral and fast idle restarted no problem. Tried same again same thing after the fourth time it took the throttle and ran fine. This has happened twice now. Does this sound like the fuel pump starting to go bad? Anyone have suggestions?

I retired before your engine came into existence and my knowledge of its design and circuitry is lacking, however since nobody has jumped in here yet........

Have someone pump the fuel primer bulb constantly, acting as a manual fuel pump. If the engine's operation improves, and no fuel leaks are obvious, suspect the fuel pump.

If no change in the engine's operation and the engine is carbureted, especially if the engine has been sitting for some time, suspect that the carburetors are somewhat fouled.

You must first establish the overall condition of the engine.---------------Do a compression test. and report the results.

Do you have a 90 degree V4 or 60 Degree OIS engine?
Does pushing the choke and/or using the primer bulb as Joe stated making a difference?

The 93 -90 HP is the same old standard V engine so common from the early 80's and on-------------------Establish the condition of the engine cylinders---------------Compression test.------------The 60 degree engine came out in 95
