Nissan 1999 5hp 4 stroke carburetor question?

I purchased a Service manual Pub. #M-632 for the motor and on page 62 ( chap 7, carb and fuel pump) they make two references to the "oil level" in the float chamber.

My question when referring to "oil level" is, do we actually mean gas level or is there some type of oil in the float chamber?

Sounds like a stupid question....however over the years making assumptions have got me in trouble!

Sounds like a malfunction translating Japanese to English. It should be "Fuel Level". As long as the float is parallel to the casting when you hold the carb inverted, you should be OK with float level.
