Any advice on Ford Lehman 2722E.When these engines were built? 1979 80hp Lehman

Rather than re building my 1979 80HP Ford Sabre Lehman, I am considering replacing it with a newer used version, a 2722E 90HP. However the Seller has no info about when this engine was originally built. Does any one know? Also, as the engine is up and running, is it worth spending £400 on having it tested ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The engine you have in mind was made in the 1960's.
They were used in the US and in the UK in Ford tractors and New Holland combine drive power units.
In the UK they were referred to as Dorset diesels.
L 400 is more than 800 US.................Not in my opinion.

The 2722e was supplied by lehman starting in the early 80's it is a dover engine and built tough to last
if it doesn't run hot and the oil pressure is 30# at idle you probably will be fine.
