Hi all, While waiting for some bits and decals to arrive for one of my CD-15s,I decided to do a quick freshen up of a Canadian Lightwin 3034/51106. It is cleaning up a treat with only one problem. How do you synchronise the ignition and carb? No marks anywhere to be seen. Is this one of the motors that has to be set at a certain RPM before bring the carb follower into contact with the adjusting plate?

Simply have the carburetor throttle cam follower (round metal rod) aligned with the cam (attached to armature plate) so that the leading edge of the cam is directly behind the port side of the follower. Now, adjust the cam so that any further advance movement (the slightest movement) causes the throttle butterfly to start to open. That's it.

Thanks for that Mate!

Seems a bit too easy but early days yet.

Here are some pics of a rather rapid rejuvination, I am not putting too much effort in to this as just something to keep me occupied in the short term.

Siezed solid when I got it but a 1960 Johnson parts heap has been helping out along the way.......................
