Electronic Ignition upgrade on AQ260 V8?

I'd go directly for a complete distributor change, and avoid any issues from that of an older, possibly worn distributor advancing system, shaft bushings, etc.
The upgrade kits are usually Hall Effect triggering. Not one that I prefer.

The Mallory YLM 624 AV is the one that I would most recommend for this engine. The YLM uses VR triggering.
