hey all,
have replaced starter, had alternater checked and was informed that all is well. started the boat no problem, after a few seconds the breaker near the ingnition switch blew. Reset the breaker the boat started no problem. but again few seconds blew the breaker. I disconnected the alternater started the boat but the same result. does anyone have a clue what else may contribute to this problem?

Well noodled the problem all day and found the fault. turned out that when replacing the shift cable the control unit was tightened over one of the auto kill wires. I guess that the compression of the wire must have heated it up enough to throw the breaker.
learned a good lesson when working around the wires... you can never use enough wire ties....

Good for you to drive in and figure it out. Always, always go back to the last thing replaced or repaired and one will normally find the culprit.
