1975 Johnson 70hp

I just looked at a 1975 Johnson 70hp serial #C19412, with thoughts on buying it. I am looking for feed back as are parts still avaliable, and was this a good production year?
It did start with muffs, however if you are looking at the motor from the rear, on the left side I noticed water seeping around some bolt heads. Is this a water jacket? Any feedback is appreciated.

I had one of those before I bought my 115 - it was a really good engine, just didn't have enough power for my 72' Mako Center Console.
 
I have a '75, 115. No power head to carb work. Has never not started, unless my fault and has never left me stranded.

I have only replaced the starter solenoid, 3 water pumps and resealed the lower unit drive shaft and shift rod twice. Just this last summer resealed the prop shaft and carrier o-rings

You may have a head gasket leak. Check the compression and lower unit lube for water and metal (there is a magnet rod on the lower plug). Might be worth finding an old mechanic have checked out.
