repacked stuffing box.

I just finished launching my Alglas after quite a bit of work including repacking the stuffing box. Now I know it is supposed to have a drip which lubricates the shaft. Near as I can tell there is no drip (other then me that is). I have the nut as lose as I dare, Any thoughts or ideas or is this normal?
 
I just went through this myself. My opinion is to use an IR gun and check the temperature on the bronze. I've read that 30 degrees over the water temp is ok, mine are 10-15. If you used GFO packing, it hardly drips so it's hard to gauge/time the drip rate.

If it's not too hot, it's dripping enough....
