Don't know where to look 2000 250 hp

Help!! I have a 2000 mercury 250 EFI Salt water series. Runs fine at lower RPM'S but at higher RPM'S it will run for awhile and then just slow down like it's out of gas. Doesn't die and can bring the throttle back to neutral and take off again only to have it happen again. Do I start with one or both of the fuel pumps or look somewhere else.

Actually, I would start with the filters then move on to the fuel pumps (new diaphram for the crankcase pump and a flow test on the electric) and then the fuel rail (if you get that far).

A new filter at the vapour separator would be number one on the hit list - unless it was new this year, it's due anyhow..
