I am on my second pair of plastic motor mount covers on my 2005 Merc 250XSL. I have broken two pair, the originals and a replacement pair. WHAT am I doing wrong???? It appears the front of the covers try to seperate from their fixed locations, and cracks begin around the mounting screws - one for each cover. I have asked my mechanic, but he could offer no reason or solution. Anyone out there experiencing the same problem? I'm at a loss. I am running the motor on a hydraulic jackplate set at level two, and seldom adjust the jackplate.
