Replaced plugs, coils checked, new gas: Starts with engine RPM advanced, dies when moving accellerator to shift. Will not start in idle position. Any suggestions in sequence to trouble shoot.

There really is a limited number to things you can do "at home" before you will have to take this into a shop.

If you haven't already, try running from a portable gas tank to rule out an issue with your regular tank (pick-up, vent, anti-syphon etc) and it's associated fuel line and any inline or water separating filters that you may have installed.

You could also replace the fuel filter on the VST (which should be done once a year or every 100 hours - whichever comes first).

If that makes no difference then unless you have a service manual and a shop equipped to test/troubleshoot the engine computer, various sensors and do the various pressure readings (high pressure electric fuel pump, fuel rails etc) then you really need to take it to a shop.

You can't go at these with an ohm meter and a screwdriver in the driveway.
