2001 honda 90 idle problems

Can't get it to idle right, have to play with the choke to keep it running, planning on cleaning the carbs, but having problems removing the airbox, can't get to the inside bolt.
 
If you disconnect the fuel lines and linkage, the manifold comes off easy with 9 bolts. Then the airbox removeal is a snap. My carbs were BAD. There are some really small holes in the side of the carb body that were also plugged. You arent going to get it going well until you pull the carbs.

Its not that hard really. this is a real common thread it seems.
