Why run at that speed? That's not economical at all (though I see it all the time: boats plowing along "saving gas".) If you want economy (and I suspect you do), either run at a no wake speed of 6 mph, or put it solidly on plane. Trim her right, then back the speed down until the bow just tries to rise. Add a bit more throttle and you're there.

PS: Installation of fuel flow measuring devices (Flo Scan, Navman, etc.) is the only way to determine your best MPG. And that's what you're really looking for, your best MPG. More MPH at the same GPH equals more MPG. Less GPH at the same MPH equals more MPG. Confused? Me too!
