Repositioning throttle/gear shifter

I am thinking about raising my side mount, single throttle/gear shifter about 3". Besides the obvious clearance issues on the back side, is there anything else I need to be concerned about?

Just make sure you have enough clearence for your knuckles on the front side. You'll also have to cover up the ugly looking hole left by the reposition.
