I have a 89 Johnson GT 150 on a 89 18.6 Javelin. My prop is needing to be re worked ( I hit something). The prop guy says he may not be able to do it due to the amount of times its been re worked. Anyway, the prop is a 3 blade 15 1/4" RAKER with a 24" pitch. I wanting more speed. Im running around 60mph at 56k RPM's now. Is that gonna be the max speed with this motor? If I go up or down on Pitch, what will happen coming out of the hole and top end speed.

Re: Prop

We have had a lot of success with the Turbo Lightning on those hulls. The Lightning has more lift which allows for the extra speed.

Re: Prop

56K RPM, 24" pitch and only 60 Mph?
You have more slip than a helicopter!
Install a hydraulic jack plate and start all over!

Re: Prop

Most (V6) Rakers we've seen are 14 1/2" diameter. You're around 13% slip which isn't good but isn't horrible considering the prop has been reworked several times. Not unusual especially if it is a Raker II.

Tell us more about your set up.
