Mercury 240 efi 2001 2.5 L

I cracked the cylinder wall into the water jacket of my 2001 mercury 2.5 v6 240efi, can anyone tell me if I can replace the block with an 2002 block or are they different or does anyone have an 2001 block. thanks

Is this a MercJet?

If so, can you post up your serial. The 240 was introduced as a 2002 model, so even one sold in the second half of 2001 would be considered a 2002 model....
