5hp mariner

I just got a 5hp mariner and would like to get a manual, but I can't figure out the year or anything. The serial number is 0D9000488 and it's a 2-stroke, appears to be air cooled. Does any one know if this has a neutral shift position? It starts in gear and will switch directly from forward to reverse when the lever is moved, but I suspect it may have a linkage problem. Does anybody know this motor?

To start with it would have been sold as a 1993 model (mfg in 92 but the model was not sold that year).

It should be a single cylinder WATER cooled motor - there is a waterpump in these.

Also, there should be a neutral there - these do have a clutch, so yes, perhaps a linkage problem.

I believe this was one of the first of the Tohatsu built Mercury/Mariners and the service manuals for these (and the 4 horse) were not included with the Merc collection for that year, so, unfortunately I can't read up or post any diagrams for you...
