oh, i see why you say "good luck" .... almost every part is listed "No Longer Available" :(

anyone have a recommendation for a good carburetor replacement???

the carbs were just recently (last month) rebuilt.
but they are still flooding bad out the accelerator pump.
i have the plungers out now soaking in 3-in-1 oil to hopefully make them swell up a bit.

here is a shot of the carbs.
would be cool to know if there is a common substitute for these obsolete Tillotson carbs.

who did the rebuild cause they sure don't know what they are doing.

Lost art really rebuilding carbs

no way they would give it back to you looking that way a professional shop.

well, he doesn't work on carb for the general public, only racers, hot rod builders, and friends. he has been doing it for decades. very sharp guy. every hot rod builder i know has been using him exclusively for years.

the motor in the pic is the renault 1189 cc used in the renault 5 lecar.. mercury marinised the motor and used the "o" drive.. the motor is 60 bhp... the carbs installed were from mercury marine. renault had a version in the marine group but the marine group has been gone for years.
