df 70 false temp alarm

I have a df 70 (2001 vintage). I am getting the following alarm:
the engine beeps for 1 1/2 secs every 7 secs with the temp lite on.
It does this on start up engine cold. I get a good stream,
i removed the thermostat, same. I run the engine and get no overheating.
No clue !

This probably isn't much help, but I'm having problems with my 2000 Suzuki DT70 and have been going through the service manual trying to figure out why mine won't rev past around 1000 rpm. It seems like most problems are due to some type of sensor that is not working properly. I haven't figured mine out yet but yours sound like a temperature sensor that's sending false signals that your motor is overheating. But I'm no expert. It's a pay service but you might think about going to justanswer.com. They have outboard experts online and you bid what you think an answer is worth. I haven't given up on figuring my problem out myself but I'm think about doing this myself.
