Volvo Penta 2003T Turbo blowing the wrong way !?

I have a catamaran that came with a pair of Volvo Penta 2003T diesel engines. One of them is fine, but one of them has a problem with the turbo, and it seems that the turbo is blowing air the wrong way!? Does this make sense to anyone? The engines are both 2003T models, but they are not identical, and I can not switch the turbos for further investigation. The engine with the problem had a seized turbo, so it was replaced just before I bought the boat. The engine can not run with the turbo attached, as it blows backwards.

Any suggestions?

Most likely defect /burned intake valve(s) on engine!!!

you say backwards ? WERE IS THE AIR COMING OUT. HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE TORBO WHEELS TO SEE IF EXHAUST IS ON RIGHT SIDE.
