PST (Pipe Sealant w/ Teflon) on the pipe threaded adapters is best. Don't use teflon tape. Nothing required for the inverted flare connections.
Some find grease on the push rod helpful in keeping it from sliding down. I find a small dab is fine. It's really easiest to spin the engine over until the push rod is at the low spot on its lobe.
Don't forget to keep up the gasket surface and use a new one.
Bolt torque spec is 20 ft*lbs.
Usually a good idea to replace the sight tube at the same time. Even though they are tygon, they are usually dark, hard, and brittle by the time fuel pump needs changing.
