timing the counter rotating engine

When timing a standard rotating engine (350 ci GM type) to achieve 6 degrees BTDC you would stop at the third notch above TDC mark.

On the counter rotating engine would you stop after the TDC mark or what would be the 6 degrees ATDC mark if it was a standard rotating engine.
Thanks
Jim

Details depend upon the timing tab put on the engine. One good thing about the Crusaders - the flywheel is marked, at least when they leave the factory.

Back to the tab and the balancers - if the standard (LH) tabs are used on the reverse engines, the BEFORE - AFTER references change: what "shows" as BTDC is really ATDC. When in doubt, I find it very beneficial to draw a picture - things are usually self evident given the facts and a little time.
