Hi, I have a 9.50 hp evenrude outboard model #9022a which i'm told is a 1970 model. i'm thinking of buying another one i've seen advertised for parts. It's advertised as a 1970 model as well but the model # is 10422r & is 9.50 hp as well.My questions are is this 10422r a 1970 year model & will the parts be compatible with mine. Thanking you...Warren...

Model 10422R is a 1964 9.5 Evinrude. The only difference between the two might be the carburetor's slow speed needle valve and the hood.

9022A is indeed a 1970 model
10422 is a 1964 model

Go to the parts catalogs at http://shop2.evinrude.com/Index.aspx?siteid=1&catalog_id=0&s1=79b6033fbb1c26644bc87065d789602f

and http://www.marineengine.com/parts/johnson-evinrude-parts.php and compare the part numbers of parts you are interested in interchanging.

There may however be more parts that are interchangeable than the parts lists suggest. The EvinrudeShop lists used to have a facility to locate equivalent parts but it seems to have been dropped recently.

Sorry Joe types faster!
