Is it possible to change gimbal bearing without removing the bellows. Last mech who worked on boat failed to put alum retainer ring back in gen 11 u joint bellows.

I have never removed the bellows to change the bearing. Done hundreds of em.......

A long 3 jaw puller attached to a slide hammer and then a long bearing driver.......

The manual shows specific tools that merc reccomends but i have my own.

With the correct tools the job should only take ~ 1 hour from start to finish....Maybe less. The majority of time is spent removing and reinstalling the outdrive to the gimbal housing.

I read it different. Jeez, yes of course the bearing can be changed leave the rubber alone.

I think i will stop posting for a while that is 2 that you caught me on Ghost thank you.

Just to many things going on around here.
