Zincs in oil U-cooler

I'm seeing a reduced raw water flow from my Port 96 454XLi. I replaced the raw water pump, but I think the culprit may be the U-cooler and excess zincs that have broken off and are lodged in the bottom. Any thoughts on how I might clean these out without taking the U-cooler apart?

search the crusader board and you'll find several approaches. Muriatic acid seems to be the thorough approach.
 
Try pulling the bottom hose and fish a coat hanger in, sometimes can break them up if soft enough. Then pull top hose and flush backward. If doesnt work try pulling both hoses, fill with muriatic acid for 5 min or so and then flush.
