late 70's or early 80's merc 50hp long shaft to short shaft

i was given a 50hp merc with tilt and trim and would like to put it on my short transom jon boat . I don't want to use a jack plate to accomplish this because i'll need on to raise it for when i run a jet pump. I'm looking for a boat salvage yard that might have the parts to change it to a short shaft if its even possible
 
I'm glad you might have the parts . As soon as i get the motor to my shop i'll get the serial numbers and find out what year and etc and give you call thanks
