water pump problems

Hope someone can help me? I have a 87 evinrude 60hp mod. E60TLCUC & SER. #R1426707. I put in a new Impeller and it will not Pump water through the moter, what coud be the problem? Thank you. humpty:mad:
 
Was it pumping water before you changed the impeller? If so, impeller key not installed, or water tube not aligned correctly would be the usual suspects.
 
it was not pumping water before I changed the impeller,I run a wire up in it, still no water. I have had the lower unit off and on so meny times I am a pro. at it. I am using the flush system with water running through it. should I take it to a lake and try it? Thank you for your responce!!
