have prestolite pointless distributors on 454 crusaders..couple of the little springs inside the dist are broken off.. Any ideas were to get replacements? Was told prestolite was sold years ago?
 
Dunno, but I would like 4 as well. I'm about to look at other stock to see if they are similar in tension and length.
 
The pedigree of those springs isn't critical. Any spring will do that pulls the advance back at idle, yet is soft enough to let it all out at 2,500 rpms or so.

If you have the distributor out, take it with you to a good hardware store and try the various springs they sell there. If still no luck, buy a racing distributor spring kit for Chevies from Jegs or Summit Racing (on-line) and use them. Again, the pedigree of the spring is irrelevant, just its action.
