alpha one overheating follow up

I appreciate all you ideas on the subject on a previous string.

We appear to have found the issue, the manifolds are partially blocked with dead barnacles.

Anybody have any success with ways to remove the dead critters
 
never known barnacles to ever get into the exaust system, the inlet holes ,under the water pump base, but never the exaust .
 
The boat previously spent its life in salt water. it is a 1989 Sea Ray 230, the only part left from the old drive train are the manifolds. The engine was a basket case rusted solid and even had some barnacles in the block when scrapped.
 
i don't know what thread you posted about to. Or what motor ? But if you installed a new or rebuilt motor and it's a 8 say for under 500 american dollars you can have new mani's risers and gaskets in a kit from many websites ( i would start at this site )

Do not install them bad mani's and risers, and i too have never seen barnacles inside mani's and motors.
