5.0 engine shut down under way

New member
engine shut down, cranks over but will not start and has good oil pressure and good temp. Engine starts and runs fine with jumper wire ran from positive on battery to positive on coil. Need some input.
 
Is this a 5.0 "Mercruiser" - if so, repost in the Mercruiser section - this is for outboards - the guys there will be significantly more help :)
