Voltage to High? on my LM 318 82 Marinette

My first cruise today and I seem to be peging out my voltage when I get past 1500 rpm's. Bad Volt reg? if so can they be tested?

If there is a autozone or advance auto near you they will check the alternator for free. I always carried a spare regulator and switched it before removing the alternator if it charged it was the regulator. Idon't know how to check the alternator in place.

Use a volt meter directly to battery at 1500 rpms. You can get them cheap!!! There are a few things a man needs in life...a volt meter is one of them. :rolleyes:
