Thanks but I mean a mercury activated type switch. Sorry I should have been more careful with the question. These motors used a small "bullet" shaped switch which didn't allow the electric start solenoid to activate at higher throttle positions.
 
Yup, I know exactly what you're speaking of. The "mercury" cut off switch that disconncts the starter circuit if the throttle is advance beyond a certain point. The part number is 377417 but has been listed as being unavailable since 1987. Sorry, I do not have any of these items left in my remaining stock.
 
Thanks all. Will check it out MN......otherwise will retrofit an old trunk or hood light tilt switch to work. They were pretty compact. Nice Javelin! I've got one too, but in the shop.
