1965 18 hp interchange with 63?

Thanks to Vics I now know I have an 18 hp Johnson on my little boat. The gears and clutch dogs are worn and it jumps out of forward sometimes. I also have a 63 Evinrude 18 hp parts engine with good clutch and gears. Does anyone know if they interchange?
