Assembling parts for my 290 swap in the future and upon recieving the parts........

I am finding the parts are made all over!

I found a decent deal on 3 PDS shaft seals, all Volvo Brand.

(Only need two, but got all three for a good price)

One was from Sweden

Second was from Germany

Third is from Taiwan!

Bearings are from China! (not Volvo)

No wonder were in such a mess!

Volvo Penta does not manufacture any of their own bearings to my knowledge, but they do asign their own p/n's to an array of existing bearings that their engineers have choosen to use.
So if you are speaking of the two bearings for the PDS, I'd be finding the same p/n in a SKF or KOYO...... or any electric motor grade bearing.
What ever you do, DO NOT use the Chinese bearings... period!
I'd post two bearing numbers for you, but I'm not yet clear on which ones you are replacing.

But IF double (fwd & aft) PDS bearings, these must be OPEN bearings, and you must "Pre-fill" the grease cavity in the flywheel cover until you see grease come through each bearing..... (rotating the PDS while doing so)..... and do this prior to installing the seals.
