Johnson 70 HP Carb issue

Is the gas too old? Sometimes really old gas will lose it's volatility. It will act lean and starving on gas even though it's getting plenty. Could be water in fuel as well. Maybe try fresh gas from a portable tank.

Could someone please post a pic. of the primer solenoid lever in it's normal position with engine off. And does it move when key is turned to on position or key pushed in. Thanks in advance. Just trying to make sure mine is operating properly.
 
The red lever does not move when the key is pushed in !-----It is for manual operation only.-------------It should be parallel with the valve body when in normal operating mode.
 
Engines with a lot of wear like a little more timing before fuel in the sync and link process. Open up the pickup roller gap to about a 1/8 gap and see what happens....
