oil leaks out of carb when tilted 2002 150 hp

hi, first time here. i have 2002 merc 150 saltwater. runs fine, but after using and i tilt up out of water, oil leaks out of lowest carb[enough to run down cables and make mess on floor]. took air box off, and ran for 15 minutes, then shut off leaving motor down, no oil leaking. let stand for 15 minutes, then tilted up, slight oil leak from barrels bottom carb. but after running and i tilt up shortly after shutting off, oil leaks significantly from lowest carb. changed 2 check valves as suggested by dealer. n/g. any ideas?

You might have an air leak at the oil tank cap.

There is a gasket under the cap to keep the tank "air tight" (or the cap itself could be shot).

If air is getting in, gravity could be doing the rest, allowing oil to (leak) down to the lowest point it can find (which would be the bottom carb)....
