was trying to check and clean the fuel filter today. but couldnt get it apart. does it turn or just pops apart? or does it come apart at all.just replace the whole thing.doesnt look like it would take much to break it.thats what i dont want to do...would be just one more thing to buy...:rolleyes:
 
If it's a 2 stroke 8 horse, then you undo it kinda like a child proof pill bottle - grab hold of both the cap (with the fuel lines) and the bowl part and turn the bowl about 1/4 turn to (unlock) it - it then separates from the cap.

It can be fairly stiff, and there is a seal between the cap and the bowl as well...
