Upgrade 2005 30Hp Mercury

I have a 2 stroke 30 Hp Mercury 30ELO made in 2005. I belive that this is a down rated 40Hp motor and can be brought up to 40Hp by replacing reed blocks and carburettor. Is this true and is it necessary to replace the whole carb or just jets? What part numbers do I order?
Motor serial number is SN OP 388795
Boat is in Greece and I'm leaving in less than 2 weeks so urgent help would be appreciated. Thanks

They are both 40 cubes, but how they derated the 40 to a 30 is unclear: Usually it's a more restrictive tuner in the driveshaft housing (easy to change), a smaller carb (ditto), and possible porting (big job). The torque of both motors will be similar, so any speed increase will be minimal.

Note: Your motor is similar to the newer three cylinder, 20 cubes per cylinder, Mercs that make 40 to 60 hp from their 60 cubes.
