Bravo Question

Im new to the Bravo drive. I have used Alpha drives for years and I am upgrading to a 454 with an bravo setup. Does the bravo use the momentary swith when shifting out of gear or is that specific to an Alpha? How can I find out what gen motor I have?
 
The bravo uses a cone clutch shifting mechanism in the upper gear case unlike the alpha that uses a clutch dog engagement in the lower unit. No switch is used.

Bravos DONT like to be shifted when NOT running!!! They also are removed and installed in NEUTRAL.

Gen motor??? need numbers............
