They are the currently recommended plugs, gapped at 0.030", but originally it would have had L78V surface gap plugs.

As Vic states, the Champion QL77JC4 plug is the proper spark plug. Originally the recommended gap was (for years) .040 but at some point in the 1990s it was changed to .030 . Use which ever gap works out best for you........ some boaters see a difference at idle...... some at full throttle.
