Power Trim Electrical Issue 2002 50 hp

I have a 2002 Merc 50 three cylinder.
The power trim lifts the motor fine but the down is not working.
I thought it was a bad relay so I replaced them.
Problem still persists -- will go up but not down.
If I pull the blue & green wires and jump direct from the battery I can make it go up/ reverse the wires and it goes down fine. So I know it's not the trim motor.

Could I have a bad ground after that relay? Schematic shows ground to the chassis but where in reality I can't see.

I had thought about the trim switch, but if I reverse the blue and green wires leading to the trim motor and then push the button for up the motor goes down. So it appears the switch is good.

no, if you reverse the wires, then the switch is not making contact when you push down. replace the switch.
