I'm pretty sure I'm asking a dumb question here.
Pulled my 86 290 drive. Drive bellows had plenty of salt water and brown gunk.
The PDS drive shaft has some play/wobble(~5/64") as viewed from stern - is it shot? Does replacement of bearing require engine removal?
If needed, I have a "good" 270 bellhousing, will that work?
Also, my drive u-joints have retaining clips on the outside of the spider/yokes -do these also have an inner retaining ring near the inner rubber seal?
