Gray Marine 225 Tune up?

I have a BOESCH boat from 1957 with a Gray Marine 225, No. P8636 and two Carter YH O-731 carburator. Is it possible to tune up this engine with other camshafts and carburators - wich parts are possible for this engine? Where can I buy some parts and is the engine from the 327 AMC the same as the Gray Marine? I also need a electric ignition. The Engine on the boat is under board and I have no free room for a higher carburator or manifold. (sorry about my english) Thank you for every answer.
 
A standard 4BBL manifold from the same year AMC will fit but as you said there is a height problem. The Carter YH's were installed to lower the overall height. They also made a 2BBL setup that sat low but But it would be a lot of work for little gain.
 
I wouldn't change the cam. the carb parts are available. Goggle the carb. I found parts in Canada. Retro Rockets have the electronic ignition parts.
