1971 6 hp no fire

Check the points and plug wires. Also check the coils for cracked housings. Could also be a bad spark plug but that is the least likely. I would start by cleaning and resetting the points.
 
Easy to check the plug by swapping the two over. Do that first! Its the easiest thing do!

Condensers can sometimes go bad. Can also be swapped over to check.
Even coils can be swapped.
 
Have you actually check the spark OR are you assuming there's no spark simply because the cylinder isn't firing?
