Johnson What Model freeze plug #A0614212 1980 15 hp

"Hi,

I have a Johnson 15hp Seahorse outboard.
Im trying to work out the model number.
I believe its pre1980.
The only number i can find is on top of the motor on the alumminum plug with the number #A0614212
It is missing the plate ID tag.

Any help would be much appreciated."

"Without the model number identification is difficult. If the number you have found is its serial number a dealer may be able to help.

A selection of photos external and deatiled of the power head may enable someone to put an approximate date on it.

The main run of of 15 hp engines started in 1974 but there are a few listed for the mid 1960s and isolated earlier ones. Fromm 1977 onwards they had CD ignition. Points before that.
