Mariner 65hp year help

"Just bought a used Mariner 6.

"Just bought a used Mariner 6.5hp 2 stroke and was wondering what the year is .

Serial number is B08834741 .

Can't find anything on a 6.5HP but see a lot of info on the 6HP motors . Is the 6.5HP a rare motor or is it the same as a 6HP .

Would like to order the SELOC manual , just don't know who built this thing .

"How are you determining it's a 6.5 horse?

The production number (serial) makes it a 1987 model.

However, beginning in 1986 Merc's (portable) line (including the Merc Mariners) was made up of 6, 8, 9.9, 20 and 25 horse models (wasn't even a 15 horse yet) - no such beast as a 6.5"
