hello i replaced the fuel pump

hello i replaced the fuel pump on this motor and the motor wont run unless i keep priming it with the bulb is it possible that im not getting a pulse from the motor any more to run the diaphram pump

"make sure,the center hole is not blocked ,on the block,and that the gasket does not cover it...u rebuild or replace fuel pump?"
