My 1994 88HP Evinrude

My 1994 88HP Evinrude has a issue with wanting to tilt. If you are a very strong guy you can lift it to trailering position then to lower it you almost have to sit on the leg to get it to go down. I have the lifting rod that hooks onto the top cover but forget that. I have lubricated everything that I could see with no luck. We have narrowed it down to either the tilt tube/pin Key #47 or the shock absorber Key #69 on www.evinrude.com . The second issue is that the tilt tube/pin will not budge to take it out for cleaning or lubricating. My engine does not have the nuts on the end of the pivot pin just two retaining clips. "u should have a nut,on the right/starboard side,that,allows u to remove it to the left,if standing behind the eng,..i would imagine its corroded at the swivel areas,esp if saltwtr engine...number 44,nut......"
