"I have a 2005 Yamaha 40 TLD.

"I have a 2005 Yamaha 40 TLD. I am going through setup with different mounting heights and props. I installed a tiny-tach to monitor the RPMs. I've turned up to 5400 rpm, but was wondering if there is an RPM limiter on this model? If there is one, does anyone know at what RPM it activates, and also the procedure to disable it?

"After doing some research, I have learned the limiter activates around 5800 rpm. TO disable the limiter, locate the grey wire that comes out of the CDI box and makes a loop right back into the box. This is the only wire that is not visibly bundled or covered in heat shrink. Cut this wire and cap off each end. This will disable the RPM limiter.
