Info to change from vro to fuel pump only 1986 40 hp

hi again i have a 40 hp 1986 evinrude my vro is faulty the oil side of the pump has been disconnected and i mix my own fuel i want to get rid of the VRO and replace it with a fuel pump only not a VRO i think OMC. have such a pump can any one advise me on part no. of the pump how to fit it and is there any drama in doing it.Any help appreciated

"There are versions of the '86 40 hp that are not VROs.

I'd start by looking at the fuel pumps they use.

I dont know how the pulse line connection is made for the VRO but maybe the standard pump will bolt on where that is.
